Good dogs don't happen by accident. Neither do good dog owners.

Many struggles between dogs and their humans come from a lack of education about what life with a dog really requires: an understanding of their innate needs, their motivations, and how to offer clear, compassionate guidance. Inspired by the core principles of modern horsemanship in which clarity, consistency, and true partnership are paramount, Dogmanship® offers a simple, functional system that teaches humans how to teach, and dogs how to learn.

It’s Puppy Stuff!

The earlier you start, the easier everything gets.

It's Puppy Stuff is the complete beginner's guide to puppyhood: potty training, biting, crate training, leash skills, and everything in between. All through the Dogmanship lens: clear, calm, and actually doable.

Nobody tells you how hard the first few months are. One minute you're obsessed with them and they are so so good. The next they've bitten your ankle, peed on the rug, and refused to go in their crate, again!

You're not doing it wrong. You just need a system.

That's what this course is. Not overwhelming theory. Not conflicting advice from five different YouTube videos. Just a straightforward, step-by-step guide to help you and your puppy actually figure each other out.

Zoe Heilman

After spending 10+ years in the animal care industry and opening multiple in person dog training / care facilities, Zoe wanted to adjust her approach. At home training options for folks who want to keep their dog close and are willing to put in the work to develop their relationship, their feel, and their dogmanship. Through training hundreds of dogs through her board and train program, Zoe has developed the skills and enthusiasm to teach owners how they can see the same changes in their pup at home. Methodical, approachable, and realistic are the words that come to mind when describing her teaching style, both for canines and their human companions. Zoe is still running her in-person training program, Rascal Training, based out of SW Washington State and continues to oversee operations at both Mother Pupper locations in Portland, OR.
