Dogs end up in the Shelter for many reasons. Some of those reasons are because of behavior problems or because they do not match the household. Temperament testing can reveal problems, many of which the Humane Society will provide training to help deal with any of these issues. Choose the correct dog so they do not end up back at the Shelter. Dog Adoption is for life.

Your local Shelter should have a temperament testing program. This type of program is the best at matching dogs and families. Many mistakes are made when a dog is chosen by just falling in love. If you have children some dogs are not appropriate for your household. Some dogs do not like other dogs or do not like cats. This is important to know before you adopt.

Watch these Professional put some dogs through the test. Watch the dogs and see how they react. Learn the signs of a dog that may not be appropriate to your household.

Remember always follow the placement advice of your Shelter.
